An access is created in Levante in the vicinity of Ametlla del Mar avenue; and two in Poniente, at different points of Armada Española Avenue

Benidorm enables three new accesses to beaches, at the request of neighbors, merchants and hotels

Benidorm habilita tres nuevos accesos a las playas, a petición de vecinos, comerciantes y hosteleros

Benidorm City Council is going to enable three new accesses to the beaches, attending to the request made by neighbors, merchants and hotels. This has been advanced by the mayor, Toni Pérez, after holding a meeting with residents and businessmen of Poniente area in which the request to generate two new accesses on the beach section of Armada Española Avenue was addressed.

The Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, stressed that "as we advanced during the presentation of‘ Benidorm Beach Safety ’the project is modular in all its aspects, attending to the demand and uses that are given at all times." For this reason, "last week we expanded the original number of accesses from 20 to 30, and now we do it again generating three new accesses, one in Levante and two in Poniente, until reaching 33".

Specifically, the new Levante access is located at the height of Ametlla del Mar avenue, while those in Poniente are located between Xixo and Rajarell avenues, and between Rajarell and the beginning of Villajoyosa avenue.

In the same way, Gómez has advanced that "in view of the type of public that is making use of beaches in these first weeks of activity and in anticipation of the tourist profile expected throughout the month, we are working to promote the expansion of blue spaces intended for families and the general population ”. Although these blue spaces "are the ones with more plots, we consider it advisable to increase them again." She also recalled that people over 60 can also make use of these spaces, as well as those specially arranged for them and identified on the sand with green colour.

The councillor recalled that "in these two weeks of activity, beaches of Benidorm have touched 110,000 users, with days in which 15,000 people have been exceeded, as is the case of last Sunday in which 17,526 users enjoyed our beaches ”.
