The investment is made thanks to the budget modification approved in June, charged to last year's surpluses

Benidorm continues the renovation of swings and bio-healthy elements in several parks in the city

Benidorm continua la renovación de columpios y elementos biosaludables en varios parques de la ciudad

The Department of Parks and Gardens of the Benidorm City Council will invest around 45,000 euros in the renovation of swings and bio-healthy elements in different parks and leisure areas of the city, using the money allocated after the budget modification approved last June to take advantage of the treasury surpluses from the previous year.

In this case, as detailed by the councillor José Ramón González de Zárate, “some elements that have been vandalised will be replaced and some games that have become obsolete will also be renovated”. Likewise, new elements such as seesaws or multi-occupant boats will also be placed within the existing play islands in the children's parks for the enjoyment of the little ones.

González de Zárate explained that the elderly will also benefit from the new bio-healthy elements in areas such as Foietes Parks, Rincón de Loix or La Cala. With this same budget, new elements will be added to the zip lines.

The councillor has indicated that these are “important actions” that are being carried out “for the youngest and the oldest and we are doing it in all the neighbourhoods because they are a priority for this government”. González de Zárate insisted that the City Council “will continue to improve these areas that are in high demand and where the residents ask us to act”.

Benidorm, the councillor continued, “is one of the cities with the most parks, and they are also distributed throughout all the neighbourhoods”, but he also pointed out that “many of them are 20 or 25 years old and need to change some elements”. “And that is what we do, we care about the youngest and the oldest” he added.

In this regard, González de Zárate has referred again to “the importance of using the money of the people of Benidorm for the people of Benidorm” and to the budget modification that has allowed this action “to which the PSOE voted against because they do not care about the city, its facilities or the people who use them. They believe that the worse things are for the city, the better for them.”
