Toni Pérez recalls that this modality of wheelchair football is a sport that strives to be Paralympic
The A-Ball of the UPV beats Valencia CF team 4-2 in the Costa Blanca Cup Inclusive tournament
Costa Blanca Inclusive Cup scheduled a match between the A-Ball teams of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and Valencia CF that was played at Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm and yielded a result final of 4 to 2 in favor of the UPV team.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councilors for Sports and Social Welfare, Jose Javier Jordá and Ángela Zaragozí, along with other members of the municipal government team shared with the players the moments before the match and recalled that "barely six years ago" in the same pavilion an exhibition match of wheelchair football was played and today, A-ball has been incorporated "with a lot of effort and tenacity" to many football teams and now "fights" to be a Paralympic sport.
The mayor encouraged everyone to experience this "intense week of sports" which, thanks to Costa Blanca Cup, and also its Inclusive tournament, takes place in Benidorm and other towns in the region, in which more than 4,000 athletes participate in teams from the five continents. A few days that he has defined as "integration, coexistence, and football, but, above all, Benidorm".
