Boca del Calvari Museum
The construction of Boca El Calvari Museum, which stands in the space previously occupied by the old town hall, has involved an investment of 1.66 million euros; money that corresponded to Benidorm by population and that came through the Generalitat's Confidence Plan.
The Museum has been conceived as a proposal for the dissemination of the evolution of the history of Benidorm, from when the first settlers settled until the city's conception changes, as a result of the tourist development of the second half of the 20th century. For this, all information and objects that are part of the city's heritage, whether public or private, such as municipal archaeological, archival, bibliographic, or photographic collections, among others, will be used.
The first exhibition has a very special meaning for the people of Benidorm, coinciding with the 275th anniversary of the Finding of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge, it is dedicated to the patroness saint of the city by memories, references and all symbols related to the virgin.
Boca del Calvari Museum is a museum of exhibitions, it is located in the centre of Benidorm, in the area with the highest frequency of tourists, it is a modern building with all accessible facilities for people with physical disabilities. Depending on the seasons of the year it has different schedules.
