Once the corresponding calendar has been concluded with the celebration of Benidorm 2020 Major Patron Festivities, the Mayor Toni Pérez thanked “the city's actions in very different festivities from those of other years, marked by the restrictions and protocols of the pandemic and without events, with the exception of the celebrations of the patrons of Benidorm, the Mare de Déu del Sofratge and Sant Jaume, where the capacity and health security measures have been respected both in l'Aigüera and in the parish of San Jaime and Santa Ana " which were attended by a thousand people attending the capacity.

The mayor has pointed out "the responsibility and commitment of people of Benidorm who have made it possible to spend the five days of festivities in a notorious tranquility", praising "the prudence and sensitivity they have shown to overcome the natural festive feeling that emerges and fills life in the city every November with massive celebrations ”.

Despite the restrictions, "Benidorm has found the time to be with its patrons and remember those who have left us, putting all his hopes in overcoming the situation and in preparing the Major Patron Festivities of 2021"

Toni Pérez highlighted "the behavior and prudence with which the festive groups and the general public have shown respect for the protocols, demonstrating the resilient nature of Benidorm and the clear commitment to the future that awaits us."

Recalling that "we never imagined this situation", the mayor reiterated his gratitude to the exemplary attitude of Benidorm that has made us "emerge a feeling of pride in a Benidorm that knows how to understand situations and give an adequate response seeking to minimize risk and secure tomorrow ”.

Finally, he reiterated "his gratitude for the general behavior and the example of commitment and solidarity offered during the days of the Major Patron Saint Festivities of 2020", encouraging "maintaining the effort, the parameters of incidence of the pandemic and preparing the future and the new reality for which there is less ”.
