Benidorm will have more public baths on the beaches and studies to reinforce the schedules of its cleaning
Benidorm will have this summer with more public restrooms to service the beaches, as agreed at a working meeting chaired by the mayor of the area, Lorenzo Martínez, and in which members of the corporation, technicians of the council and representatives of the concessionary company of the integral management of the beaches, RA Benidorm.
Martínez explained that "all the new modules that will be installed will be adapted and will maintain the external aesthetics that the current ones have in the vicinity of the accessible beaches".
The councilman has stated that this measure "addresses the need to install more toilets on public roads and we strengthen the quality of the service we provide to beach users", as in addition to increasing the number of modules "is going to be studied the feasibility of increasing cleaning schedules. "
Specifically in the meeting, and after discussing different possibilities of location, it has been agreed to move the self-cleaning toilet installed in Rincón de Loix at the end of Avenida de la Armada Española, in the zone where the local police checkpoint is located . In substitution of the self-cleaning toilet, in Rincón de Loix a new adapted one will be placed. The one in Tamarindo area will also be replaced by a new one, which will be installed in the municipal park located at the end of the avenue. Finally, the bathrooms of Paseo de Colón will be reinforced with a new module.
On the increase in the cleaning of these public toilets, "work is being done on a proposal to increase the schedules, so that one person takes care of those located in Levante zone and another does the same with those of Poniente". A measure that would imply the hiring of another worker by the concessionaire company.
During the meeting, "the possible implementation of a box office service on the beaches of Benidorm has been put on the table". Martínez recalled that this service "is included in the specifications" of the contract for the integral management of the beaches. After discussing the issue, it was agreed to "do a pilot test this summer taking advantage of the infrastructure of the libraries". This pilot will be tested, in principle, in Levante biblioplaya during the months of June, July, August and September, and "depending on the results of the test it will be valued that the company extends it to different sectors of hammocks".
