Youth participate in the JOOP (Young Opportunity) program, which helps young people build their own life plans

Benidorm City Council's Youth Department, led by Councilor Ana Soliveres, will participate in the Jove Oportunitat (Jove Oportunitat) (JOOP) program, part of the Valencian Community's European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) program for the 2021-2027 period, managed by the Valencian Youth Institute.
This program is designed to motivate and guide young people between the ages of 16 and 21. The goal is to get young people who are not studying or who do not want to continue their studies or are not working, active and want to build their own life plans through an intervention that focuses on their motivation, strengthens their self-esteem, and helps them build that plan.
In groups of up to 15 participants, the tool used is attitudinal coaching. They will be provided with guidance on the different professional areas of vocational training, using a practical approach. They will visit companies where they will be shown the real work that each qualification leads to, helping them discover their vocation. In addition, for young people who have not completed secondary school, the JOOP program offers an academic training module to prepare for the entrance exam for intermediate-level vocational training.
Sociocultural outings are also included. Thus, once the program has begun, they will be offered preparation for the entrance exam for intermediate-level vocational training or the possibility of a training offer appropriate to their level.
The program is free for young people; it will begin next April and end in mid-July. Those interested can find more information at Benidorm Youth Information Center until March 21.
