Valencian Scouts award the Silver Medal of Merit Scout to José Antonio Añón
The Silver Medal of Merit Scouts, one of the most precious awards in Valencian scout world, has been awarded, posthumously, to José Antonio Añón, founder of Scout Horizontes Group of Benidorm - in front of which he was twenty years old -, for his tireless work both in the former Baden Powell Scouting Zone, where he was the area curator, and in the world of Spanish Sculpture.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 28 at Séquia Mare Park with the assistance of the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez. The president of Scout Valencians, José Gómez, will deliver the distinction to José Antonio Añón to his wife Marisa Frau,
The Councilor for Youth, Jaime Jesús Pérez, has pointed out “the importance of the recognition of the founder of the Scout Horizontes de Benidorm Group” and the forty-one years of its journey “through which thousands of young people from Benidorm have passed” than following the Scout ideology to "become good citizens".
