Offering, mass, parades and music are the main events of this celebration
The traditional Artichoke Festivity returns this Saturday to Plaza de la Constitución
Tomorrow, Saturday, like every third weekend in November, the traditional Festa de la Carxofa (Artichoke Festivity), will be held again in Benidorm. A festivity, chaired this year by Antón Lázaro, which has its epicenter at Plaza de la Constitución and which arrives just after the Patron Major Saint Festivities.
The scheduled events will begin at 9:00 with the 'hanging' of the artichokes and will continue at 9:45 in the morning with an offering of flowers to the Mare de Déu del Sofratge. At 10 a.m. a mass will be celebrated in Sant Jaume and at the end of it there will be a parade and at 12:30 a popular sardine and aperitif for all attendees at Plaza de la Constitución. In the afternoon a game of pilota 'a raspall' has been organized at 5:00 p.m. on Santísima Trinidad Street. From 6:00 p.m. a DJ will entertain with music all afternoon until the drinking contest begins at 9:00 p.m. beer.
At 11:30 p.m. the burning of the Artichoke will begin, although the entertainment and music will continue until two in the morning.
