Toni Pérez receives firefighter Domingo Seguí “Xomi”, winner of 6 medals at the World Police & Fire Games Rotterdam 2022

Mayor Toni Pérez received this morning the Benidorm firefighter Domingo Seguí Orts, "Xomi", on his return from his participation in the World Police & Fire Games Rotterdam 2022 where he has won 6 medals: 2 gold -in the individual category in Intervention and Ascent- and 4 more team medals, with Mexican components: 1 gold, uphill, 2 silver in intervention and 1 bronze in a new uphill test. The teams have been in a mixed category.

Seguí has ​​highlighted the participation of more than ten thousand police and firefighters, from 70 countries, who have competed in 63 disciplines typical of their professional activities -intervention and ascent- as well as in the traditional sports of an event such as the Olympic Games. He explained "Xomi", that 3 participants came from Benidorm regional park and that the sporting event involves competition and camaraderie.

Toni Pérez has congratulated the Benidorm firefighter for the successes obtained and has been interested in the particular of this biennial competition, open to active and retired members of the police forces and firefighters from all over the world, which this year has been held in Rotterdam from July 22 to 31. Pérez has insisted on specific aspects of the work and situation of the group, as well as the possibilities of training and participation in this demanding competition.

To questions from Mayor Toni Pérez, "Xomi" pointed out that he already has more than 80 medals in high-level sports competitions on his record. The City Council has given him a small gift celebrating the successes of the active professional and athlete from Benidorm from the Benidorm Regional Fire Department.
