Toni Pérez, coordinator of FVMP Tourism Commission
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, is today coordinator of the Tourism Commission of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP). Pérez has participated today in the constitutive meeting of this commission, which was held in Valencia.
At the end of the meeting, Pérez stressed that “Benidorm, as the tourist capital of the Costa Blanca and as the origin of more than 45% of the tourist GDP of the Community and 10% of the total GDP, can contribute its experience, trajectory and know-how to this Commission and, by extension, to the other municipalities of the Valencian territory; while learning and sharing synergies. "
In this first session, the regime of meetings of this body has been established, and some initial proposals for action have been launched.
In addition to being part of this body, Toni Pérez is the vice president of the Tourism Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). In addition to this Vice Presidency, Benidorm co-directs the working group on Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI) of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI). Likewise, the mayor is currently the president of the Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities (AMT), of which the eight leading Spanish populations in this segment are part.
