Toni Pérez congratulates Benidorm 'riders' who have won the Spanish Championship
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, received today in the Mayor's Office Pablo and Raúl Sánchez, brothers who have competed, together with Miguel Ángel Pérez, also from Benidorm, in the recent Spanish Championship of BMX Racing 2021 held in the Granada town of Almuñecar.
BMX cycling is an extreme sport that is practiced on cross bikes with 20-inch wheels. In Almuñecar meeting, held at the Pozuelo beach circuit between October 16 and 17, more than 300 runners from all corners of Spain participated.
On Saturday 16, the Sánchez brothers reached the final in the Challenge category 17 to 29. Raúl was in seventh position and Pablo, in second, thus obtaining the runner-up. On the same day, Pérez was in fifth place in the Cruiser category 40 to 49.
On the second day, Sunday, Pablo Sánchez was in fifth place in the Cruiser Pro category and Miguel Ángel Pérez reached first place in Master 40.
After these excellent results, these athletes from Benidorm continue with their preparation to participate in the last of the 2021 races, the grand final of BRR League, the Tangent Open of Sant Vicent del Raspeig that will be held on November 20 and 21.
