The Local Government Board (JGL) of Benidorm has today approved the extension of the deadline to request Parenthesis Grants of 'Plan Resistir', in its third call, until next November 12, as advanced today by the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez. Likewise, it has been agreed to proceed to the ex officio review of the applications presented in this call "in case any of the files could be resolved in a favorable direction after the modification of the deadline".

These grants are financed by the Generalitat Valenciana, Alicante Provincial Council and the town councils and are aimed at the self-employed, mutualists, communities of assets and SMEs with up to ten workers.

The third call was due to the fact that "1,030,669.77 euros were still pending execution, after the first two calls had been completed". The new call was deemed "justified" in view of the reports issued by the technicians of the Department of Tourism and following the instructions of the General Directorate of Local Administration after a query made by the Department itself. "In this third call, sectors that develop different activities in Benidorm that had not been contemplated in the previous ones and that were also affected by the pandemic have been included," said Gómez.

Paréntesis grants were endowed with 160 million euros. Of these, the budget for the municipality of Benidorm amounted to 5,245,416 euros. In the first call, the City Council received 922 applications, of which 850 were approved in seven remittances, for a total amount of 2,032,475.87 euros. In the second call, once the deadline had expired, 1,036 applications were received, of which 996 were approved, which were attended in six remittances, for a total amount of 2,182,270.36 euros.
In the first two calls, the City Council processed 1,958 files, of which 1,846 were approved and 4,214,746.23 euros were granted ”, leaving 1,030,669.77 euros pending until the total amount was completed.

In this third call for aid, the bases establish that the beneficiaries will be the self-employed and SMEs with up to 10 workers whose activity takes place in one of the economic sectors of the first and second call and have their fiscal or activity domicile in Benidorm. However, this time also includes "those self-employed and SMEs that, not being contemplated in the previous calls, justify a reduction in income in 2020 of at least 30% compared to 2019", the mayor recalled.

Mónica Gómez has reiterated that the aim is to “contribute to the maintenance of current or habitual expenses that the beneficiaries have continued to bear despite the decrease or lack of income, thus helping their economic viability and promoting self-employment or self-employment. alien ”.
As up to now, the aid will consist of a fixed amount of 2,000 euros for each self-employed worker or micro-enterprise with up to 10 workers and an additional 200 for each worker affiliated with Social Security as of December 31, 2020.

The bases also establish that the economic activity must have started on or before December 31, 2020 and must be registered at the time of submitting the application. They may not have been beneficiaries of the Parenthesis grants in any of the two previous calls, neither in Benidorm nor of other Parenthesis grants in another municipality.

Individuals or legal entities interested in requesting this aid must submit the request online on the website of Benidorm City Council, at the link https://sede.benidorm.org
