The City Council reaches an agreement with the owner to win parking spaces and improve the image of the area
Tomorrow Benidorm opens a new free public car park with almost a hundred spaces on Comunidad Valenciana avenue
The Benidorm City Council has completed the work to adapt a plot of land on Comunidad Valenciana avenue to create a public car park with a capacity of 94 surface spaces that will be free for users. The plot in question covers an area of just over 1,900 square meters and will be open and operational as of tomorrow, Saturday.
The local government contacted the owner's land to sign an agreement so that the City Council was authorized to use said plot as a public parking area for residents and visitors to the city.
The agreement, as explained by Mayor Toni Pérez, stated that "the City Council will use these lands for the sole purpose of creating public parking" once the plot has been conditioned and cleaned, as has already been done. The works have included the creation of an access ford and, as stipulated in the agreement, maintenance will also be carried out by the Consistory.
The new public car park will be in force, in principle, until September 30, 2025, although "it can be extended for as long as it is deemed necessary if there is a will on the part," said the mayor.
Pérez has indicated that “this is a similar formula to the one that was done just a few weeks ago with another plot on Calle Lérida and a few years ago with the public car park on the Las Terrazas lot in the block formed by Avenida Europa, Mediterráneo and the avenue of Madrid”.
"With this formula, what we do is win parking spaces for residents and tourists while improving the image offered by this plot in an area with a lot of influx since it is one of the most important accesses to Benidorm" added the mayor.
