Tears and ashes, final stage of Benidorm Carnival with the Burial of the Sardine

The carnival of Benidorm came to an end last night with the traditional Burial of the Sardine among tears, sobs and generalized mourning of the public who walked the image of the fish through the central streets of the town.

The Associació de Penyes ‘Verge del Sofratge’, organizer of the event together with the Department of Fiestas, made every effort to say good bye to Don Carnal until next year. Practically a thousand members of the clubs of rigorous mourning, neighbors and tourists accompanied the cheerful funeral procession.
