The representative team of Tarragona has proclaimed the winner of the XVII Championship of Teams of Chess for the Blind, after defeating the Madrid this morning, in the competition that has been held since Thursday and until today, on the premises of the hotel Deloix of Benidorm. The Cadiz and Barcelona teams have been ranked third and fourth respectively.
The championship is an initiative of the Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind (FEDC) with whom the National Organization of Blind Spaniards (ONCE) and Benidorm City Council have collaborated. Precisely, the Councilor for Citizen Security and also for Beaches, Lorenzo Martínez has been the one who has handed the trophy to the winning team, in an event in which have also participated the comrades of corporation Arturo Cabrillo, Rafa Gasent and Juan Balastegui and, in addition , the secretary of the FEDC, Juan Maldonado, and the director of ONCE in the province of Alicante, Estela Medina were present.
