Students from ‘Benidorm Natura i Esport Employment Workshop’ receive their diplomas

Los alumnos del ‘Taller de Empleo Benidorm Natura i Esport’ reciben los diplomas que acreditan su formación

This morning, students from ‘Benidorm Natura i Esport’ Employment Workshop received diplomas certifying their participation in the program, after completing their training in various specialities related to forestry and sports. The diploma ceremony took place in El Moralet Park, where the participants carried out much of the practical work for the workshop. Among those present were the Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councillor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez; other members of the local council; and teaching staff and trainers from the program.

This year, approximately twenty students participated in the workshop, for which the city council received a grant of €549,528 from the Valencian Employment and Training Service (LABORA), supplemented by a municipal contribution. During the training period, participants received the minimum interprofessional wage, with corresponding social security contributions.

These twenty people have been divided into two groups to develop two different training programs: ten in ‘Auxiliary Activities in Forest Conservation and Improvement’ and ‘Reforestation and Silvicultural Treatments’. The rest are in ‘Auxiliary Operations in the Organisation of Activities and Operation of Sports Facilities’ and ‘Guiding Bicycle Routes’.

Toni Pérez congratulated the students on the training they received, while also thanking them for their work over the past twelve months. The mayor also wished them all the best in entering the job market and stated that these types of workshops “represent a unique opportunity for many unemployed people to expand their training and increase their employability in the short and medium term.”
