The street market moves to the fairground until mid-March by the landscaping of Foietes Park

The Wednesday market is moved this week and until mid-March to the fairground due to the landscaping works of Foietes Park. The councilor of Commerce, Ana Pellicer, recalled that the UTE that is carrying out the works of the park has advanced the work of planting and landscaping of the green areas, initially scheduled for February, and that these are incompatible with the installation of the market. Pellicer said that "the company has requested that from this Wednesday, January 11, and until mid-March not to install the market in Mercasa to not interfere in the work." The head of Commerce has clarified that "it has been tried to make the market compatible with the gardening work but it has not been possible, because although planting can be relatively fast, it is necessary to respect the process of germination of the lawn and settlement of all the species". "Technically," he added, "we recommend avoiding people traffic so that the entire landscaping process is done under the most optimal conditions and the resulting green areas are better," although she has pointed out that these tasks are compatible with the use of Mercasa as a parking, so parking areas will remain operative. Pellicer apologized to citizens "for the disorder that implies a new transfer of the market in such a short time".
