Social Welfare organizes this Wednesday a talk on foster care
The Department of Social Welfare of Benidorm City Council has organized a talk on foster care in the Valencian Community for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5, with the aim of "raising awareness and informing the population about the importance and impact of it" in the lives of children and adolescents.”
This was stated by the councilor for the department, Ángela Zaragozí, who has invited “the entire population that may be interested to attend the talk to learn more about the topic and the options that exist to become a foster family.”
Zaragozí has indicated that this activity has been organized on the occasion of the International Day of Family Fostering, which is commemorated on May 30. It will take place starting at 6 p.m. at José Llorca Linares Social Center, located in Foietes-Colonia Madrid neighborhood, and “will have the participation of foster family associations and the Alicante foster care intervention center, as well as testimonies from welcoming families who will share their experiences and answer the doubts of the attendees.”
“Family foster is a supportive and enriching alternative that allows us to offer a safe and affectionate environment to boys and girls who, due to various circumstances, cannot live with their biological families,” recalled the person in charge of Social Welfare, who also pointed out that becoming a foster family offers the possibility of “contributing to improving the lives of many children and adolescents, who need a temporary home full of love and empathy.”
