Social Welfare department organizes a day to inform seniors about programs and resources to combat loneliness

The Benidorm City Council's Department of Social Welfare organised a workshop this Friday, July 4th, to inform seniors about municipal programs and resources to combat unwanted loneliness, according to the councillor for the department, Ángela Zaragozí, today. The workshop will be held at El Torrejó municipal centre starting at 10:30 a.m., and staff from the Department, in collaboration with the companies Domus VI and Eurest Colectividades, will explain "to seniors and their families the different plans, projects, and resources that Benidorm makes available to them."
The content and operation of the telecare programs "Major a casa," the Brújula project, the active ageing workshops, and the Office for the Elderly will be detailed, as well as the scope of the financial benefits linked to Home Help, and the services related to care dependency.
Zaragozí emphasised that "the ultimate goal of these programs and resources is to promote the autonomy of older adults, ensuring they can be as independent as possible and receive the best and most comprehensive care so they feel safe and supported."
He also emphasised that "Benidorm is a city committed to older adults, promoting actions that guarantee their inclusion and also achieve high standards of quality of life." This work has earned Benidorm the title of "the first destination to certify its commitment to older adults through AENOR."
