Skyline Film Festival offers workshops and activities online for students in Benidorm educational centers

26 May 2020
El Skyline Film Festival ofrece talleres y actividades en línea para el alumnado de los centros educativos de Benidorm

A dubbing workshop and a horror podcast workshop will be taught, and short films on human rights will be shown

The fourth edition of Skyline Benidorm Film Festival begins shooting in June with online workshops and educational and leisure activities aimed at students in educational centers in the city. The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and the director of the short film competition, Beatriz Hernández, have explained today that "the educational centers of Benidorm can request to participate in these activities and workshops, which are going to take place during the month of June and that they are designed so that the youngest ones enhance their creativity and know and understand film language better ”.

Both have reported that there will be a Didactic Workshop on Dubbing and another on a Horror Podcast. In the first, young people will learn basic notions about vocabulary of professional dubbing and then they will be able to dub fragments of fiction films, documentaries and cartoons in various languages. In the second workshop, students will learn to create a radio program by themselves. These two workshops will be held live through the Zoom platform.

In addition, Skyline Benidorm Film Festival in collaboration with Humans Fest 2020 offers screenings of short films on human rights with the presence of the director of this last event.

Education centers interested in participating in any of these activities must pre-register at https://bit.ly/SKYLINE_INSCRIPCION. For more information or to find out the technical requirements for the development of these activities, you can contact the organization via email info@skylinefest.es.

The Councilor for Culture and the director of the Skyline have encouraged schools in Benidorm to participate in these activities that start the fourth edition of the festival, which will take place online from July 1 to 12 through Filmin platform, where you can watch the 25 short films in competition in the Official Section.

In addition to the viewing of shorts on Filmin, during the festival there will be virtual colloquia and meetings with the directors and actors of these productions through Zoom; and there will be live on Instagram with directors of other competitions; and meetings with producers who have participated in previous editions of the festival, who will tell about their experience in Benidorm and on Skyline Festival.

And also in online mode, 'Shortpitch' will be developed, the great novelty of the 4th edition of Skyline Benidorm Film Festival, with a prize valued at 13,000 euros and to which 11 finalist projects are opting, all of them in the development and preliminary phase production. Those responsible for these projects must present their works in a virtual meeting with a jury of experts, which will determine which of them receives the award for the production of the short film.
