Benidorm City Council begins this Thursday, May 28, the gradual distribution of masks to school-age children registered in the city. The first to receive the masks will be the youngest students, those born in 2015 and 2016; while on Friday it will be the turn of those born between 2011 and 2014 - both included -, as reported today by the mayor, Toni Pérez. The delivery of masks, which will reach the school population born in 2003, will be completed next week.
The mayor has indicated that "in total, the City Council is going to deliver masks to some 9,000 registered students in Benidorm born between 2003 and 2016, within a municipal initiative with which we intend that our minors enjoy their outings with the maximum guarantees of safety " Toni Pérez recalled that since last week these masks have been available to nearly a thousand schoolchildren who use the municipal program "Menjadors a casa".
Regarding the delivery of the masks, as it advanced last week, it has been arranged that families can obtain them at the collection points that have been used for 'Menjadors a casa' program: La Casa del Fester, José Llorca Linares social center, Les Caletes Municipal Children's School and CEIP El Murtal, Ausiàs March and Els Tolls ”. Each educational center in Benidorm is assigned one of these collection points, which will be operational in the morning and afternoon from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thus, in La Casa del Fester the masks will be delivered to minors who are studying at CEIP Leonor Canalejas and at Nuestra Señora de los Dolores school. Students of the CEIP Miguel Hernández and Ausiàs March, must collect them in the latter center; while CEIP El Murtal will serve students of this center and CEIP La Cala. CEIP Els Tolls collection point is reserved for students from the same center and Puig Campana; while at José Llorca Linares Social Center, masks for minors from the CEIPs : Aitana, Bautista Lledó and Vasco Núñez de Balboa , will be delivered. Finally, in La Torreta Social Center, students from CEIP Serra Gelada, Gabriel Miró and Mestre Gaspar López will be attended.
The mayor has clarified that "minors from Lope de Vega, Costablanca and Waldorf schools, as well as students registered in Benidorm but schooled in another municipality may obtain their mask at the collection point closest to their home."
These collection points will be attended by municipal staff and volunteers from the Collective Aid Network (#RAC). In the coming days, the date of collection of the masks for the rest of the school population will be informed.
