On the occasion of the commemoration of the Day Against Gender Violence, celebrated on Friday 25 November, the Regional Council for Equality has launched an awareness campaign that will reach bars, cafes and restaurants in the Marina Baixa . Specifically, serviettes with the council logo and the phrase 'No to gender violence' that will be distributed among catering establishments. The campaign has been presented this morning in Polop. The act has been attended by the councilwoman of Equality in Benidorm, Angela Llorca, who explained that "the objective of this campaign is to prevent gender violence and sensitize the population that in the fight against this scourge everyone has to be involved." Llorca stressed that "gender violence is not only an issue that concerns the victims, also their environment and any person who at any time is witness or aware of an aggression." "Silencing these situations makes us complicit in gender violence, so with this campaign we seek the active response of people to any case of this type," she added. The head of Equality encouraged all hotels and catering establishments to participate in this campaign, which will be transferred to Abreca and Cobreca to inform its associates. The campaign will be available from Wednesday at the department of Equality until end of stock.
