Benidorm will bring to the next full session the LGBT + Municipal Plan, one of the first in Spain

The text has been
approved by an informative commission and includes measures to combat LGBT
hatred and to ensure equal rights and recognition of this group

The councilor for Equality, Angela Llorca,
will raise to the next plenary session a motion to approve the 1st LGBT +
Municipal Plan, one of the first to be developed in Spain. This plan has been written
by technicians of the area and has taken into account the needs transferred by
the two LGTB associations of the city, as well as the contributions made by the
municipal group Compromís-Los Verdes. Llorca explained that this plan has a
duration of four years and "its objective is to fight against LGBT hatred
and to improve the life in equality of conditions of lesbian, gay, transsexual,
bisexual and other groups respecting their sexual and gender diversity ". The
councillor said that this plan is not only limited to the department of
Equality, but has a cross-cutting nature and involves "all municipal
areas" with concrete actions. This I LGBT + Municipal Plan, which has
already received the approval of all the groups in an informative commission,
contemplates several areas of action with specific actions. Thus, regarding the
municipal organization, it is contemplated "to review the models of
applications to adapt them to the family diversity" or "to favor the
use of non-sexist language and images". In addition, this plan wants to
guarantee the participation of LGTB + by creating a LGTB + Municipal Council;
promoting associationism; raising awareness among citizens in equality of
treatment, developing campaigns and supporting acts of protest, social and
cultural organized by the collective; supporting school initiatives and
developing a school prevention program; providing legal and psychological
counseling in cases of assault, harassment and discrimination; As well as
promoting the cultural and leisure offer of the city for LGTB + . Each year,
the compliance with the different actions included in the plan will be
monitored. "Despite advances in gender equality and visibility in all
social spheres of homosexual, bisexual, transsexual and intersex people. The
