La actuación, enmarcada en la Estrategia de Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible e Integrador de Benidorm, cuenta con una inversión de más de 13 millones de euros
The plenary session of Benidorm will approve this month the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Bullring
The Benidorm City Council's plenary session will approve the basic and execution project for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the bullring in its next session. The project will be ruled this Monday in an informative commission.
This emblematic project of the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy "includes what will be the future central library of Benidorm and the surroundings of the Parque de l'Aigüera and will completely renew the structure of the architectural complex", explained mayor Toni Pérez. "With this action within this EDUSI project, we will rehabilitate this space in Benidorm to prepare it for its future use as a large Youth Center, with a marked social and multicultural character."
The proposal, which has favourable technical reports, will also rehabilitate the structure of the Plaza de Toros and transform it into a new space that will have numerous public uses. This ambitious action by EDUSI has a total budget of almost 14 million euros.
"We are committed to renovating the municipal infrastructures and boosting the cultural and social offer of Benidorm with an iconic building that will also solve the connectivity between the neighbourhoods of Foietes-Colonia Madrid and Els Tolls," highlighted the mayor Toni Pérez. "The new cultural and social complex will be an efficient, modern and versatile space, which will adapt to the needs of the residents, visitors and tourists of Benidorm" he added.
The comprehensive renovation of the urban complex is one of the iconic actions of the EDUSI of Benidorm. Last year, the feasibility study and the economic valuation were presented to tender. Now the municipal plenary session will approve this project at the end of the month, which, in the words of the mayor, "will also help transform the environment of the Plaza de Toros, in the heart of the EDUSI action area, to continue reducing social inequalities and move towards a more integrated Benidorm”.
This action responds to the fifth line of action of the EDUSI that seeks the "rehabilitation and enhancement of public assets, opening them to tourism and citizen use". The works, whose budget amounts to €13,734,302.31, will expand the cultural and social offer of Benidorm, improving the connectivity of its residential neighbourhoods.
