The firing of the fireworks last night put the end to this year's Festes Majors Patronals in Benidorm, which have been marked by the recovery of all acts after two years of pandemic and with extensive involvement.

The last day of the Festes Majors Patronals in Benidorm did not disappoint anyone.

A morning that began at 11:00 with a children's show for the little ones at Plaza de la Hispanidad and SS MM Los Reyes de España, which was followed by a firing of rockets and a candy bar at noon.

But the highlight of the day began at two in the afternoon with the last firing of rockets on Jaime I Avenue, sponsored by Associació de Penyes, which was carried out by the Hermanos Sirvent/Piromedia pyrotechnics. With almost 98 kilos of gunpowder, it lasted more than seven minutes. Several thousand people followed her from the vicinity of the avenue.

In the afternoon, the Parade of Floats recalled from 6:00 p.m. past editions of the Festes, prior to the pandemic, with the participation of 40 floats, of which 36 took part in the contest and another two in the float modality. artisan. The prizes this year distribute 1,000 euros for the best float, 600 euros for the second prize, and 400 for the third. The best handmade float wins a prize of 1,200 euros.

The parade departed from Alcoy Avenue and passed through Martínez Alejos, Ruzafa, Venus, Marte, Almendros and ended in Elche Park. The last two floats, those of the Queens and their Courts, put the finishing touch to a parade that was followed by several thousand people along the streets and with all available seats sold out long before it began.

The culmination came later with the firing of the spectacular and sonorous fireworks from Poniente beach by Ricasa pyrotechnics, which lit up Benidorm's skyline before a crowd that watched in amazement. A total of 1,250 kilos of gunpowder and a duration of 22 minutes drew applause from those present for several minutes.

With the festivities now over, Benidorm has already started the countdown to the Festes Majors Patronals of 2023.
