Our Father Jesus of Nazareth tours the center of Benidorm, fulfilling the tradition of Holy Wednesday

Tonight, the Holy Week events move to the neighbourhoods of Foietes-Colonia Madrid and La Cala
Last night, the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled the Holy Wednesday tradition and marched solemnly and devoutly through the most central streets of Benidorm with its floats of La Convocatoria and Our Father Jesus of Nazareth.
For nearly two hours, the members of the city's oldest brotherhood accompanied the image of Christ Carrying the Cross from the Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna through the Old Town and the El Calvari neighborhood, under the watchful eyes of hundreds of residents and tourists who also wanted to attend one of Benidorm's most traditional Holy Week events.
Mayor Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros; numerous members of the Municipal Corporation; as well as the regional deputies José Ramón González de Zárate and Manuel Pérez Fenoll, also participated in this solemn procession, along with the president of the Major Board of Brotherhoods and Confraternities of Holy Week and the Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth, María Dolores Cano; the parish priest of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna, Juan Antonio González; and representatives of the rest of the local groups related to Holy Week.
The Colla de Xirimiters de la Marina opened a procession in which brothers of all ages participated: from the youngest, recreating different scenes from the Passion as every year, to women wearing mantillas, brothers with their faces covered, and several penitents, who carried crosses and chains preceding the image of the Nazarene, which this year was escorted by firefighters from the Provincial Consortium Fire Station in Benidorm for the first time, following their appointment as honorary members of this Brotherhood last Palm Sunday. Following Christ, the religious and civil authorities paraded, closing the march with the Societat Musical l'Illa de Benidorm, to the strains of the processional march "Solemnidad" by José Pérez Ballester.
Tonight, Holy Thursday, the central events of Holy Week in Benidorm move to the neighbourhoods of Foietes-Colonia Madrid and La Cala.
