With more than 200 registered participants, the organization hopes to match or exceed last year's participation, which reached 1,200 runners

The organization of the charity race ‘En primera línea’ to benefit Aspanion launches a video to promote the event

La organización de la carrera solidaria ‘En primera línea’ a beneficio de Aspanion lanza un vídeo para promocionar la prueba

The second edition of the charity race ‘En primera línea’ is in its final days of organisation before it is to be held on 22 September. The event was born to raise funds to help children with cancer and their families.

This morning, the presentation of a promotional video for this race took place at the Town Hall, which aims to encourage “everyone” to participate in it “and to help Aspanion in the fight against childhood cancer” according to the Socio-Cultural Group of the Local Police, which is promoting the event together with Benidorm Athletics Club.

The video exemplifies in just two minutes the reason for the race, as detailed by María José Gutiérrez, from the Local Board of Aspanion, “It tells the story of the relationship between a girl with cancer and a runner from the window of her house where she is going through her illness until she overcomes it and they meet on the street during a training session for the runner” said José Carrillo, from Blau Comunicación. The short film is performed by Natalia Fernández and Chema Fernández. The video can now be viewed at the following link: https://youtu.be/be1JQ1ziQoM?si=rBxd9wU5Vr5XbWsh

The race organisers, Grupo Brotons, have announced that there are already 228 registered participants, many more than last year at this time and that it is expected to exceed the 1,200 who took part in the first edition in the different modalities that are held.

The race will take place on the beaches of Benidorm in its different participation options, to be able to cover the largest possible number of people. Specifically, there will be a 10-kilometre race, a 5k race, a popular march along the 5K route and children's races through the l'Aigüera park. As for the sporting events, they will run in the opposite direction to last year, first going along Levante beach and, in the case of the 10K, also reaching Poniente. Attendees will be able to enjoy a day with activities, entertainment, a solidarity bar and music.

The last edition of the ‘En Primera Línea’ race collected more than 22,000 euros. This year, all those attending the presentation have expressed their desire and confidence that “the success will be even greater because the work that is done is worthwhile”. Thus, the Councillor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, has shown “the support of the City Council for everything that Aspanion needs and for holding the race”.

The Councillor for Public Service, Jesús Carrobles, has also thanked “all those who make this initiative possible” and has highlighted that these events “contribute to bringing the Local Police closer to the citizens and for them to see us differently”. Likewise, Javier Jordá, Councillor for Sports, has emphasised that “sport gives visibility to causes like this, so we have to excel and improve. The more of us there are in the race, the greater visibility it will have.”

Registration for the races is still open and can be done through the websites www.carrerasolidariabenidorm.es and www.grupobrotons.com. In addition, participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt for the event.
