The Engineering department has explained to the Corporation the content of the technical specifications, which includes an investment of 1.5 million in 10 years and a fixed fee of 150,000 euros
The new urban furniture contract promotes the installation and maintenance of technological elements
The new urban furniture contract “will promote the installation and maintenance of technological elements” that will allow Benidorm to comply with the stipulations of the Smart Tourism Destination Master Plan (DTI), in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS), and in the Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP); as well as advancing in the implementation of ‘Benidorm, Smart and Sustainable Tourist Destination’ project, for which the city has received a subsidy from the Red.es entity for 2.4 million euros.
This has been indicated today by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who explained that “complying with the word given, this morning within the Internal Regime Commission, the chief engineer Vicente Mayor has transferred to the Corporation the details of the technical specifications that this contract will govern ”, which will be tendered for a period of 10 years and that provides for an investment of 1.5 million euros.
Toni Pérez has clarified that “the winning company must materialize that investment during the first year of the contract”. In addition, the City Council will receive a fixed fee of 150,000 euros annually, and a variable one with consideration of 131,000 euros.
In the investment section, the contract provides for the installation of “digital marquees, - which will include schedules and information on the public transport service of buses and taxis; institutional poles, ‘digital’ mupis, ‘led’ screens, charging points for electric vehicles, and new Wi-Fi points. It is also planned to renew 150 ‘mupis’ that are in poor condition.
The mayor has explained that “this sheet is in tune with the digital transformation that is living in Benidorm in the last three years, and therefore includes the maintenance of technological facilities of other projects already executed or that are being executed at this time ”, Like the 'tecnohito' and the 'tecnoparadas' provided for in the remodeling of Mediterráneo Avenue or those of Red.es program.
Toni Pérez has informed that the technical specifications "are practically finished" and that of administrative clauses will be drafted shortly. Once approved by the Intervention area, both specifications will be approved and the contract will be tendered. The intention is that by Easter 2020, Benidorm already has part of the new elements.
Shortly, it will first be referred to Contracting to “proceed to the drafting of the administrative clauses specifications”. Once audited, it will proceed to its approval and tender of the contract.
According to the specifications, when assessing the offers, the contribution of an implementation project that includes a proposal for new elements, linked to new technologies and their integration into the DTI, PMUS and PAES will be taken into account; as well as a directional signaling plan that incorporates a design proposal for all those elements.
