The association asks that some trees that invade roads be pruned and to solve the problems caused by some GPS services

Neighbors of La Huerta and the Neighborhood Council value positively the latest actions in the neighborhood

20 August 2020
Vecinos de la Huerta y Consejo Vecinal valoran positivamente las últimas actuaciones en el barrio

As usual every Thursday, the councilors of Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer; and that of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, have met with neighborhood representatives from one of the neighborhoods of Benidorm, summoned by the Neighborhood Council (CV). On this occasion, the councilors have moved to the Huerta de Benidorm and have travelled part of their paths with members of the Association of Neighbors of La Huerta and the vice presidents of the CV, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario.

The previous visit took place last January and a list of requests to the City Council emerged from it. In this regard, Ana Pellicer has pointed out that "the changes" that have occurred are evident, referring to "the roundabouts that were in the process of being redesigned", then (the Estanquet and Orozco), and that today they are a reality, as well such as "planting palm trees, paving, improving cleaning and clearing roads." The councillor has also underlined the placement of a new traffic light crossing at the intersection of Avenida de Bernat de Sarrià with Camí del Palasiet, a suggestion of the neighbors in the previous meeting, before the lock down.

From today's meeting, Pellicer has clarified that new proposals have been made "in terms of cleaning trees" that invade roads and that today the municipal services have been ordered to be carried out "in the coming days ”, although in this case it is not a municipal competence. Neighbors have also asked the City Council to mediate "before the relevant entity" to solve some confusing and erroneous messages from certain GPS services that confuse users who do not know the area and that some drivers have caused incidents.

The person in charge of Citizen Participation has also announced that next week, the Neighborhood Council will convene the residents and associations of Colonia Madrid, at 10.00 in the morning at the Municipal Warehouse on Avenida de Beniardà and has made an appeal so that all residents who are interested in improving this neighborhood participate in the call.
