The City Council grants for a total amount of 71,100 euros

Nearly 240 Primary and ESO students from Benidorm's public and catholic educational centers will benefit during the first semester of the year from extra support lessons launched by the City Council, aimed at "reducing the expense that families make in the classes that students receive to improve their academic results in the academies of our city”, as explained by the councillor of the department, Maite Moreno.

The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today the definitive resolution of these aids, for a total amount of 71,100 euros, so that each student will receive the aid of 50 euros per month, counting from last January until June 23.

Moreno clarified that "the amount corresponding to each student will be paid directly to the academy where the beneficiary receives the classes and that has joined the initiative." This payment will be made in advance in a single payment.

The Councilor for Education transferred that "with these grants, which we have convened for the third consecutive year, it is ensured that no student in the 2nd and 3rd cycle of Primary and ESO is left behind in their school progression and can continue receiving these extra support classes, in which the contents worked on in schools are reviewed”.

Moreno highlighted "the good reception that this grant has had once again, both among the students and among the academies and study centers of Benidorm"; and she reported that "in addition to the 237 approved grants, 40 have been denied for not meeting any of the requirements established in the bases."

The councilor recalled that "these grants for tutoring classes are added to the rest of the subsidies that the Department of Education launches each school year to serve Benidorm students and their families, such as school transport, for treatments psycho-pedagogical or for the acquisition of school supplies for the 2nd cycle of Infant”.
