The initiative aims to guide 4th year ESO and basic FP students on their educational, training and professional future

Nearly 2,000 students from the Marina Baixa region are participating in the Benidorm Education and Vocational Training Fair

Cerca de 2.000 estudiantes de la Marina Baixa participan en la Feria Educativa y de Formación Profesional de Benidorm

Mayor Toni Pérez emphasizes that Benidorm "is once again a driving force for initiatives that benefit the region; in this case, to young people of Marina Baixa"

Carrer de Pilota at Palau d’Esports l’Illa in Benidorm will host the 6th edition of Benidorm Education and Vocational Training Fair this Tuesday. This year, the third edition of the regional fair is once again a success with participants and students. This morning, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, visited the various stands that make up the fair. In addition to public education and training centres from across the region, private academies and centres, universities, business associations, companies, and law enforcement agencies are also participating. The fair aims to offer young people guidance to help them decide on their educational, training, and career future.

The mayor met with teachers, students, and other participants and witnessed some of the exhibitions taking place throughout the day. In addition to Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, also participated in the institutional visit, along with other members of the municipal council as well as mayors and education councillors from other neighbouring municipalities, such as Altea, l'Alfàs del Pi, and Polop; the vocational training prospector from Marina Baixa, Mari Carmen Sigüenza; and other education experts.

Throughout the morning, more than 1,500 students in their fourth year of compulsory secondary education and basic vocational training from twelve schools in Benidorm and other towns in Marina Baixa visited Carrer de Pilota del Palau to learn in detail about the educational, training, and employment opportunities available to them, both in the region and beyond. Likewise, around 500 young people are expected to attend throughout the afternoon until the fair closes at 6:00 p.m.

Twelve educational centres offering vocational training courses in the region, with 17 professional categories, are participating, as well as public, private, and distance learning universities, such as the University of Alicante and the UNED; the Official Language School; Domingo Devesa Training Center of Benidorm; the Civil Guard, National Police, and Local Police; the Provincial Firefighters' Consortium; the Army; the Red Cross; academies; employment and local promotion agencies; and the Youth Department of Benidorm City Council, among others. All of them have set up more than twenty stands with all their training, educational, and job opportunities, to serve as a guide for young people who must decide where to direct their future.

Toni Pérez recalled that "in 2018, the Department of Education promoted this Educational Fair to reinforce the important work carried out by the Guidance Departments of educational centres, creating a meeting place where students could learn about all the job and training options available in the region and beyond, for their immediate future."

“And after the success of the first editions, the fair grew and took on a regional character,” the mayor continued, recalling that “for the third consecutive year, we welcomed schools and students from all over Marina Baixa to offer our younger population a very valuable resource when planning their educational and professional future.”

The mayor emphasized that “Benidorm is once again a driving force for initiatives that benefit the entire region, thus sharing resources and generating synergies between municipalities; in this case, for the benefit of the youngest.”

For her part, the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, thanked all the participants for their collaboration in “making this new edition of this Educational Fair a complete success” and noted that it will also be open to the general public this afternoon, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
