Twenty-three musicians join the bands of the three associations
The musical entities of Benidorm celebrate this weekend special concerts in honor of Santa Cecilia
The Musical Union of Benidorm, the Musical Society l'Illa and La Nova Musical Society celebrate this weekend special concerts in honor of Santa Cecilia, patroness of musicians. Some concerts that, in addition, will suppose the incorporation of 23 musicians to the bands of the three associations.
Within its XXXVI Music-Cultural Days in honor of Santa Cecilia, the Musical Union has scheduled for this Sunday, at 11.30 am, a concert in the auditorium of Grand Hotel Bali by Banda Juvenil, to which are incorporated two students, and the Symphonic Band, which brings together ten new musicians. Banda Juvenil will perform 'Marina Baixa' by Rafael Doménech Pardo; and the pieces 'Ammerland' and 'Dakota' by Jacob Haan. The program of the Symphonic Band will start with 'L'Entrà de la Murta' by Salvador Giner, and will continue with 'Diego de Acevedo (Symphonic Suite)' by Miguel Asins Arbó and 'The Legend of Flathead Lake' by Carl Wittrock. Both bands will be directed by Pedro Salinas.
The Musical Society l'Illa, which commemorates its twenty years of musical career, will offer its concert in the Auditorium of Benidorm City Hall on Sunday 17 at 12.00. The band, which incorporates a new musician and will be directed by Felipe Juan Lanuza, will open the first part of his program with the pasodoble 'Camino de Rosas' by José Franco. It will be followed by the prelude of 'La Torre de Oro' by Gerónimo Giménez and 'Overture to a new age' by Jan de Haan. In the second part of the program the musicians of l'Illa will perform the pasodoble 'Yakka' by José Rafael Pascual, the fantasy for band 'Espíritu Galego' by Santiago Quinto and the symphonic poem 'A bandolero Story' by Teo Aparicio.
On Saturday, the 16th, at 7:00 p.m. in the glass auditorium of Gran Hotel Bali, it will be the turn of the Band of the School of the La Nova Societat Musical, as well as the Symphonic Band, which will include 10 musicians. This concert is part of the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the musical group. Under the baton of Francisco José Rovira, the first part of the program will be carried out by the Band of the School, which will start with the pasodoble 'Educando de Benejúzar' by José Aparicio, to continue with 'Happy Mallets' by Harm Evers,' Highlights from Frozen 'and' Piccole Note '. In the second part, the Symphonic Band will interpret the pasodoble 'Villa de Benidorm', 'Torre del Oro' by Gerónimo Giménez, the symphonic poem 'El Arca de Noé' by Óscar Navarro, and a selection of themes from the soundtrack of ' Star Wars'.
The Councilor for Culture, Ana Pellicer, has pointed out that "the quality of the programs prepared by our bands for their concerts" confirms "the level of the three musical groups that also, and to everyone's satisfaction, continue year after year adding musicians to their ranks, thus contributing to enrich and enhance the cultural offer of Benidorm ".
