El alcalde de Benidorm participa en el V Foro Internacional de Turismo Maspalomas presidido por el Rey Felipe VI

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has participated in the V International Tourism Forum Maspalomas that was held between yesterday and today in the Gran Canaria municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, invited by the mayor of this town, Marco Aurelio Pérez. Both locations, along with Salou (Tarragona), Torremolinos (Malaga), Lloret de Mar (Girona), Calvià (Mallorca) and Adeje and Arona (Tenerife) make up the Association of Tourist Municipalities (AMT) of Sun and Beach.

The central act of the Forum, held yesterday afternoon, had the participation of the King of Spain, Felipe VI, who holds the honorary presidency of the event since its inception. The monarch in his speech highlighted "the effort and determination" of the Canarian municipality and the local tourism sector that this year celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of its creation as a tourist municipality.

The International Tourism Forum, which is jointly organized by the City Council of this town and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, gathers hundreds of specialists and tourism professionals every year with the aim of exchanging opinions and experiences on the main problems of the sector and study the trends that in the future will mark the tourist activity. The Forum is supported by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Ibn Zhor University (Morocco), the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (Portugal), the Rochelle Bussines Scholl (France) and the Center for Tourism and Economic Studies (Gran Canaria).
