The "Moor Invasion" at Levante beach initiates the Moors and Christians festivities

Benidorm welcomes yesterday the most important events of the Moors and Christians, which began last weekend with the poster presentation and the traditional music concert, which this year was played by Musical Sociedad La Nova.

After the 'Entraeta of filaes' that took place yesterday, tonight's the first official act with the 'Moors Invasion' on Levante beach has been celebrated.

The confrontation began with a dispute between two knights riding their horses. Finally the Moors emerged victorious and got to fly the flag in the castle.

The councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, presided over the embassy with members of the municipal corporation and queens and ladies of the Festes Majors Patronals 2016.

Tomorrow Saturday, October 1, it will be the 'Entrada', central act of the celebrations, with a parade of the main streets of the city, departing from Tomás Ortuño street to Plaza de la Hispanidad.

Finally on Sunday, October 2, at 11.00, it will take place the 'Estafeta' and the Christian Embassy and 12.00. The party will continue with the offering of flowers to San Jaime, the patron saint, who will leave Gambo street to the church, and after that there will be a solemn mass. In the afternoon the events will finish with a parade with floats at 20.00 hours.
