The individual prize was for 'Dancing with José Mota'
'The modern era' stands with the first prize of the Carnival parade in which more than a thousand people participated in both days
More than 1,500 people participated on Saturday evening in the Carnival parade of Benidorm, organized by the Association of Penyes Verge del Sofratge and who toured several streets of the city center to finish at Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España with a party until the early morning.
From nine thirty in the evening, about 78 groups and a dozen in the individual category, starred in a multitudinous parade, which filled the course of color and much work in the making of costumes and sense of humor, led by the queen Marina Carrillo and her court of honor, accompanied by members of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals 2019.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the councillor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; as well as several members of the municipal corporation attended to attend the parade, conveniently disguised for the occasion, being in charge of later awarding the prizes to the winners, along with the Queen, Marina Carrillo, the president of the Comissió de Festes, Roberto Carretero, the president of the Penyes Association, Coly Pérez and members of the jury.
The winners were in the individual category 'Dancing with José Mota' with a prize of € 300, second place for 'Reina Goma Eva' endowed with € 200 and the third prize went to Africa who won 100 euros.
In the category of groups this year the Associació de Penyes wanted to increase the number of prizes. The winners were on this occasion the members of the penya 'A Tot Arreu' that with more than 40 participating members won the first prize thanks to its staging with 'The modern era' endowed with 1,000 euros. The second prize was for the 'Night Birds' with a prize of € 750 and the third prize went to the hands of the 'Brides in Carnival' who achieved € 500. The rest of the prizes were in the following order: Aracnaval (€ 400), Trotamúsicos (€ 300), This is not a mirage (€ 150), Hei Hei (€ 100), La Repavada Real (€ 50), Desigual Desigual ( € 50) and Sol de Benidorm (€ 50).
Children's Carnival.
In the morning the Children's Carnival took place with the participation of more than 500 young people, divided into 40 groups and 20 individuals, as well as the children's queen Paula Mayor and her children's honor court, who led the parade.
In the group category the winner was Transformers with a prize of € 300, the second prize was € 200 for Esquimales Polo Norte and the third prize went to Unicornio, with a prize of € 100.
In the individual category the winner was for Maléfica (€ 100), the second was for Flor Primavera (€ 75) and the third prize was for Lego (€ 50).
