Hassane Ahoucher and Patricia Cabedo are winners of Vueling Benidorm Half 2019
This Saturday was Vueling Benidorm Half 2019 (XXXV International Half Marathon of Benidorm) and the 10K race, marked by an excellent weather. At 6.30pm, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, kicked off from Avenida Mediterráneo, a new location for the start and finish of the runners, in a race that brought together more than 3,000 athletes in both events, with a high percentage of foreigners, coming from more than 33 countries, who traveled along a new urban route, tracing both beaches, and which consolidates this test as proof of sports tourism.
Classifications
In the male general the winner was the Moroccan athlete Hassane Ahouchar, with a time of 1:07:24, ahead of Severino Felipe (1:07:47) and Jorge Bardisa (1:08:27). In the Women's General category, Patricia Cabedo was the winner (1:21:43), followed by the British Suzie Richars (1:24:06) and Cristina Ordoñez in third place (1:25:54).
In the 10K, the athlete Francisco Macia won (0:31:51), followed by Pablo García (0:32:15) and third place Juanfran Fernández (0:32:19). In the women's category, the first place was for the Italian Giulia Vettor (0:37:24), followed by Sandra Hervás (0.39: 41) and Tania Salamanca (0:40:21).
Regarding the local athletes, in the Men's Half Marathon, the first to cross the finish line was Juan Antonio Fernández (1:11:20); the second Rubén Caballero (1:13:44); and the third, Angel Bañón (1:20:25). In the female category, the first was Sonia Tirado (1:29:49), followed by Cristina Gómez (1:41:43) and Charo Serrano (1:49:31).
In the 10K, the first place was for Vicente Moncho (0:36:46), followed by Juan Gilabert (0:37:08) and Javier Lópezs (0:38:53). In the women's category, Pilar Rodríguez obtained the best time (0:43:40), followed by Damaris Tirado (0:45:37) and Lucia del Mar Pérez (0:46:32).
After the races, the trophies were handed out in which the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo; the first lieutenant mayor Ana Pellicer (who had also competed in the test); along with diverse members of the municipal corporation and main sponsors of the test.
Solidarity shoes
This year as a novelty, Fundación Telefónica, in its integration project "Zapatillas solidarias", has allowed the participation of 12 people in social exclusion and who, for the first time, have participated in an athletic event outside their place of residence, the Community of Madrid, enjoying the test by the beaches of Benidorm, as a platform for improvement, thus instilling the values of sport.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, wanted to be with them during the previous hours to wish them a wonderful race and support them to continue practicing sport.
