En la Semana de la Movilidad Benidorm presenta su flota de vehículos limpios y anuncia novedades en Movilidad Urbana Sostenible

González de Zárate has requested a meeting to the new general director of transport to discuss urban transport and tram

The Councilor for Public Space, Mobility and Universal Accessibility José Ramón González de Zárate has presented this morning the European Mobility Week program that “actually - he said - we have already begun to celebrate this morning with the project work table OMEGA within the BeniMov Forum ”, making Benidorm the headquarters of this innovative project.

The claim, he explained, is that thanks to BeniMov Forum, “Benidorm is present as a reference in every week of mobility in Spain” because the main speakers of the topic are in Benidorm between today and Saturday. The councilor recalled that the initiatives of Benidorm in these European weeks of mobility "have already been awarded by the Generalitat and the Ministry"; and that innovative line is continued.

As for the week itself, González de Zárate announced the thematization of activities ranging from the “promotion of the use of responsible use of the car” to the promotion of the Day without cars, as well as walking routes, use of the bicycle and promotion of the use of public transport.

On Monday 16, Foietes Park, the City Council and its service dealers will hold an exhibition of their clean vehicles. The councilor explained that "the City Council requires concessionaires that all their vehicles be electric." In this regard, he recalled that as soon as effective systems are available, they will be required.

Public transport will be the protagonist of the day of Tuesday 17 and Sunday 22, as well as object of claim. On Tuesday, free bus tickets will be offered on lines 2 and 3 of the Orts Llorca Avenue and Sunday on Line 10.

On this issue of public transport, González de Zárate stressed that although "at present it is not effective or efficient" we must go to the solution. He said he has requested the new director general of transport, appointed last week, an urgent meeting to address the pending issues, noting the urgency because "Benidorm must make the decision to tender its public transport and the tramway of Beniardá."

In the program of activities of the European Mobility Week the celebration is contemplated, on Wednesday 18, of the XXV Anniversary of the Children's Traffic Park, in collaboration with the Lions Club.

The bicycle will be the protagonist on Thursday 19 with an activity in Sèquia Mare Park, kilometer zero of the bike path of Levante Zone and on Saturday 21 a foot exploration is scheduled in the district of El Calvari and Costera del Campo “so that the neighbors see the improvements in accessibility and mobility that have been made ”.

The Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) will be the protagonist of the day on Friday. In the early hours, the Mobility Council will meet to study the implementation of changes “in Salt de l'Aigua School Complex that will be an important road solution” and, after the meeting of the Council, the presentation of the Urban Mobility Plan will take place Sustainable 'Benidorm present and future'.

And on Sunday, 22, Day without cars, the activity moves to Armada Española Avenue that will redistribute its circulation model and pedestrianize sectors to contribute to the European Mobility Week mission.
