These temporary changes begin on Wednesday and will be operational for two weeks
Mobility reorders the traffic around Ricardo Bayona due to the works of the new Atocha street collector
As of Wednesday, February 10, the construction works for the new collector on Atocha street will move to the intersection with Ricardo Bayona Avenue. Due to this circumstance, the Department of Mobility will temporarily reorder the traffic in the area; some changes in the circulation that will be operational "for approximately two weeks", as reported by the Councilor for Works and Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate.
As De Zárate has indicated, as of Wednesday, access to Ricardo Bayona from Jaime I avenue will be prohibited. Alternatively, vehicles must access by Arnedo street and by Atocha street - which changes the direction of traffic - to reach Ricardo Bayona and Foietes Avenue.
On the other hand, the vehicles that circulate down Ricardo Bayona avenue in the downward direction will be able to exit to Jaime I; while to access Foietes Avenue, vehicles will have to take Avenida 9 d’octubre.
The councillor has indicated that "now is the time to carry out this work taking advantage of the low traffic density", and has asked citizens for "understanding". In this sense, he recalled that the construction of the new collector is a "very important action since it will improve the wastewater network and the collection of rainwater from the entire lower area of Foietes-Colonia Madrid neighborhood."
