Mobility automates a traffic light on Beniardá Avenue to prioritize the passage of Civil Guard vehicles in case of emergencies
Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Mobility, has proceeded to automate a traffic light on Beniardá Avenue, at the height of Capitán Cortés Street, to facilitate vehicle exit and access to the avenue. of the Civil Guard when there is an emergency.
The objective is, as explained by the Councilor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, “that the intervention time in an emergency is reduced as much as possible.” To do this, in a sentry box at the Benidorm Civil Guard headquarters there will be a remote control that, when activated, will close the traffic light and prioritize the passage of the Benemérita vehicles.
“With this type of measures we manage to save time in emergency actions and avoid unnecessary risks to pedestrians and vehicles,” indicated the councillor, who has witnessed the operation of the new device 'in situ'. Beniardá Avenue is one of the main access and exit routes to the city and around 30,000 vehicles pass through it daily.
