Minute of silence in Benidorm in memory of the last victim of sexist violence
The City Council of Benidorm with its mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll, at the head, has observed a minute of silence this afternoon in memory of the latest victim of male violence in Spain. Representatives of the different political groups, municipal workers and neighbors have also been present.
The latter case occurred in the town of Sant Adrià de Besós, in Barcelona, where a 34-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife, who had reported him twice for mistreatment in recent weeks.
To date, the number of fatalities due to gender violence in Spain during 2017 amounts to 47 confirmed women, to which 27 orphans must be added. This amount could increase if the four cases that still remain under investigation were confirmed, one of them being a woman from Benicàssim (Castellón).
