The Benidorm V Employment Workshop ends, which has provided work for a year to 10 unemployed people

28 December 2017
Finaliza el Taller de Empleo Benidorm V, que ha proporcionado trabajo durante un año a 10 personas desempleadas

The workshop has been subsidized by SERVEF with 185,463.60 euros and by the City Council with 29,500.

This morning the Benidorm V Employment Workshop, a mixed program that combines training actions with the provision of services of public utility and social interest, was closed in the Plenary Hall of the City Council. The event was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez; of the Councilor for Employment and Local Development, María Jesús Pinto; from the director of the workshop, José Antonio Fernández; and the liaison technician of SERVEF (Valencian Employment and Training Service), Tomás Aguirregoitia,

In total there have been 10 unemployed people who have participated in the program throughout 2017, and have received the equivalent to the SMI (Minimum Interprofessional Salary): 655.20 euros per month. In this period, in addition to the 10 direct training and learning contracts, three other indirect contracts for work or service have been formalized for technical personnel.

The workshop has been subsidized by the SERVEF with 185,463.60 euros and by the City Council with 29,500, so the total cost has risen to 241,963.60 euros.

The training plan has been aimed at obtaining certificates of professionalism in 'Auxiliary operations of administrative and general services' and in 'Administrative activities in relation to the client'. In addition, complementary training has been provided in occupational risk prevention, professional insertion, environmental awareness, gender equality and computer literacy. 40% of the students will continue studies of Vocational Training and languages.

Participants in the V Employment Workshop have provided their services in the municipal administrative extensions, in the public attention points of the City Council, in the Councils of Employment and Social Welfare, in the Local Police headquarters and in the area of Statistics. The report of the workshop shows that during this time around 5,000 consultations have been attended and managed and made approximately 50,000 administrative actions (procedures, consultations, information, general attention, etc.).

The Workshop has intervened especially in the development of admission campaigns in early childhood services, sports schools and in the development of the EDUSI (Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy) of Benidorm. One of the most significant works has been the development of the 'Guide to services for citizenship', a compendium of the most significant procedures that can be done by neighbors in the City Council.

VI Benidorm Workshop will be launched in the coming days.
