'Benidorm Medieval' returns one more month in May to Elche Park with a hundred stalls and countless shows and animations. This initiative promoted by the Department of Fiestas and Commerce together with AICO and the company Legend Especialistas will take place from Thursday, May 4 to Sunday, May 7, coinciding with the commemoration of the 698th granting of the Charter of Poblament.
The Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, indicated that in "one more year the 'Medieval Benidorm' comes to further enhance an event as important to us as the founding of our city almost seven centuries ago, thus complementing the events organized by the Grup Carta de Poblament and l'Associació de Penyes and making this immersive trip to another time possible”.
Carrobles highlighted that "edition after edition this event is consolidated and is gaining relevance, bringing together a large audience not only from Benidorm but also the region and different parts of the province of Alicante". Likewise, he stressed that "it is a very dynamic market, in which, in addition to the commercial aspect, attendees find a leisure alternative for all audiences."
In this regard, as reported by AICO, 'Medieval Benidorm' is "an event of tourist attraction" that arose with "the clear objective" of "capturing the attention" of residents, tourists, and occasional visitors and thus favoring “Walk through our streets and avenues getting to know our shops, restaurants and leisure establishments”.
The entity affirmed that the medieval market will be "the epicenter of all activities with nearly 100 themed stalls", including "artisans from Benidorm" and "cultural and social associations" such as ACR La Barqueta, Aerbeco, and Cats Club.
In addition, there will be recreational and leisure activities including "musical performances, street entertainment, children's games, a medieval market, and a themed decoration that will take us back to the year 1325", where the public will be able to enjoy "fights between knights, fairies magic, mythological beings, folk music, elves, dances, druids and a wide variety of characters that will appear during these three days thanks to the company Legend Specialists”.
The little ones will have children's attractions, a corner with game tables, and a large playroom. There will also be trade workshops and a 'photocall'.
'Benidorm Medieval' will begin its activity on Thursday the 4th at 5:00 p.m., although its official opening will be on Friday the 5th at 5:30 p.m. From Friday to Sunday, the 7th, the medieval market will open its doors at 10:30 in the morning, with the first of the shows and entertainment starting just 30 minutes later. In the afternoon, the hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
