El alcalde Toni Pérez recibe a los taekwondistas Jonathan Moreno y Fernando Sanabria tras lograr la medalla de plata en Sarajevo

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has received this noon in his office along with the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, the taekwondistas Jonathan Moreno and Fernando Sanabria who this month have been proclaimed runners-up of Europe with the National Team in the Championship of Taekwondo ITF Europe held in Sarajevo (Bosnia) in which more than 1,200 athletes of different nationalities participated.

On this occasion, two students of ITF Benidorm Taekwondo Club, Jonathan Moreno and Fernando Sanabria, were selected to be part of the national team and represent the Spanish Federation team.

Jonathan Moreno participated in the most prestigious category of Tuls, IV Dan Senior, and Fernando Sanabria participated in Combat -57kg Jr, in Tuls Jr II Dan and in prepared combat. Together with them this occasion also accompanied them as Coach Paco Ferrando.

Jonathan Moreno achieved the Silver medal losing in the final against French Doulay, current world champion. Fernando Sanabria in combat -57kg stayed at the gates of the medal with a fifth place and in the form of Combat Prepared with his partner Yassine Tahaloui they got into the grand final against the current world champions, Poland, who could not overcome by getting the silver medal.
