The Department of Culture allocates 15,000 euros to these grants, aimed at local entities and whose bases are approved on Monday
Benidorm launches a line of grants for cultural projects and activities
The City Council will launch a line of grants to support cultural activities and projects developed by entities in Benidorm and will be endowed with 15,000 euros. The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, has advanced that these grants are aimed at local cultural associations that have developed or are going to develop activities in 2019 - except those that have received some other grant from the Department. Each entity will opt for a maximum amount of 1,000 euros.
Pérez explained that "with these grants we want to strengthen, encourage and support initiatives that make Benidorm's cultural life grow by supporting activities of any cultural and artistic field, from theater to music, through cinema, exhibitions or conferences." Aids, he said, "we want them to have continuity in the coming years."
Entities interested in attending this call must be registered in the Register of Associations of the City of Benidorm and have their headquarters in the city. The subsidy may be used for current expenses arising from the development of projects or programs; to those derived from the normal functioning of the association; or cover the necessary material for the celebration of activities and leases of spaces.
Applications must be submitted within 10 days of the publication of the rules in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP), accompanied by a descriptive and valued report of the project or activity to be subsidized. They must also provide the annual program of actions and activities planned for the year, and a brief curriculum or historical and descriptive summary of the association.
The mayor has pointed out that “in 2017 grants were called for this same purpose, although now we have reworked the bases to ensure that these grants reach more entities and activities, thus achieving the ultimate goal of fostering and energizing even more the cultural offer of our city with projects bearing the 'Benidorm' seal and which have been conceived by local associations ”. With these grants, the councilor insisted, “we fulfill programmatic commitments and contribute to better project the cultural facet of Benidorm”
He also recalled that "this line of subsidy adds to those that have been awarded to the bands of Benidorm for four years to recognize the cultural and pedagogical work they do through their schools of students." A subsidy that in 2019 has reached 27,400 euros, and that like the ones now summoned are resolved in a Technical Commission.
That Technical Commission will be responsible for assessing the proposals based on the criteria included in the bases, and that measure, among other issues, the quality and interest of the project, the innovation and application of new technologies, the impact on the local economy, or The continuity of the project.
