The mayor highlights “how much has been done in a very short time” by Minister Nuria Montes at the head of the Tourism Ministry

12 January 2024
Consell de Turisme

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, today highlighted “how much has been done in a very short time” by the councillor Nuria Montes and her team in the Department of Tourism. Toni Pérez launched this message during the first Consell Valencià de Turisme of this legislature, held in Invattur and in which the incorporation of the new members of this body has materialized, among whom is the manager of Visit Benidorm, Leire Bilbao.

This meeting has also served, according to the mayor, to “join strategies” and take “balance” of the first months of activity of the Tourism Department, in which barriers and obstacles that affected the competitiveness” of Valencian tourist destinations have been “eliminated, in clear allusion to the repeal of the tourist tax. A tourist tax that was approved by the previous Valencian government of Ximo Puig and that from the first minute had the frontal opposition of the sector, Benidorm City Council and most of the tourist municipalities of the Valencian Community.
