The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has accompanied today the people in charge of  Don Pancho hotel in the ceremony to receive the Docomomo award, which is awarded annually by the foundation of the same name. An international foundation created in 1990 and whose objective is to inventory, disseminate and protect the architectural heritage of the Modern Movement.
In addition to the mayor, the new provincial deputy for Architecture, José Ramón González de Zárate, and the councilor for Urban Planning, Lourdes Caselles, were also present at the event.
The dean of the College of Architects of the Valencian Community, Luis Sendra, has presented a commemorative plaque to Andrés Torrubia, the family representative, which has been placed at the entrance of the establishment.
With this award, Don Pancho hotel joins other buildings in the Valencian Community that have raised the interest of Docomomo Foundation, such as El Realengo settlement town in Crevillent, Alonso de Xàtiva Building or Antonio Rueda Housing Group and the German School of Valencia.
