The works will focus on replacing the pavement in the section between Goya and Alcalá streets
Benidorm starts next week accessibility improvements on Beniardá avenue
The departments of Works and Public Space of Benidorm City Council, will begin next week to improve accessibility in a section of Beniardá Avenue, according to what the councilor José Ramón González de Zárate has advanced today.
The work will include the existing sidewalk in the section between Goya and Alcalá streets "where the pavement is damaged, is very old and has a significant unevenness with ramp areas and even stairs." For this, a material identical to the one used in avenues Jaime I and Europa will be used "which is porous and prevents slipping, in addition to improving the urban scene," said González de Zárate.
The work does not require much complexity " only the old pavement has to be replaced with the new one and it is not necessary changing the drinking water or rainwater collection services, which were renewed a short time ago". The councilor explained that there were "many complaints due to slipping and lack of accessibility."
The mayor has indicated that the objective is to have completed the renovation of the entire avenue and its urban scene "before the end of 2022", although for this, he added, "the Regional Govermnet should begin the tender for the underpass of vehicles that go down Beniardá avenue ”to be able to perform also on the front of the road.
