Les Festes Majors Patronals de Benidorm, on its fourth day, have today paid tribute to those who are no longer with us. First with a requiem mass in the church of San Jaime and Santa Ana and later with an offering at Plaça de la Senyoría and in the two city cemeteries. The third firing of rockets has put the noise and gunpowder from Jaime I avenue.

The day began at nine in the morning with a chocolate drink and half an hour later the Commission collected the queens and their court of honor to go to the parish church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna, accompanied by the authorities.

In the church, a solemn requiem mass was celebrated at 10:30 am for the souls of all the deceased in Benidorm, which was officiated by the parish priest of the church, Juan Antonio González. The religious ceremony was attended by Mayor Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Festivities, Jesús Carrobles, members of the municipal corporation, the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt, as well as the presidents of the Commission and the Associació de Penyes, José Vicente Fuster and Adrián Romero, the president in perpetuity of the Comissió, Francisco Llorens, the standard-bearer Cristóbal Ronda and the members of honor, as well as a large number of neighbors.

At the end of the mass, the queens and authorities offered a laurel wreath in the fountain of the monument to the Fallen in the Sea in the Plaça de la Senyoría. Next, a visit was made to the two cemeteries of the city, Verge del Sofratge, and Sant Jaume, where homage was paid to the deceased with flower crowns, and a response was prayed for those who are no longer with us.

And at 2:00 p.m., from Jaime I avenue, the third firing of rockets de Les Festes was fired, by the Ricasa pyrotechnics, which launched almost 90 kilos of gunpowder in 381 seconds, more than six minutes. A show that has been enjoyed by thousands of residents and tourists.

This afternoon the program of events continues from 7:00 p.m. with the celebration of the traditional 'Humor Parade' organized by the Associació de Penyes and sponsored by the Comissió, in which nine local clubs will take part. The parade will go through Venus, Ruzafa, and Martínez Alejos streets. The prizes of the parade will be known during the concert that will take place from 11:30 p.m. at Plaza de SS MM Los Reyes de España with the performance of Warriors Bears.
