The City Council is ready to tender the work, which amounts to 3.5 million euros
The Local Government Board approves the execution project of Leonor Canalejas multi-purpose pavilion
The Local Government Board of Benidorm today has approved the project for the execution of the multipurpose pavilion at Leonor Canalejas public school, which in addition to serving this educational center will also house the Adult Training Center (former EPA). The Town Planning Councilor, Lourdes Caselles, explained that once the project has been approved, which will be carried out under 'Edificant Plan', the City Council “is now in a position to proceed with its rethinking” and “start the corresponding hiring file to tender the works ”of this multi-purpose pavilion, valued at 3,525,582.48 euros.
Caselles has indicated that the execution project “was received on September 13” and has been informed “favorably by the municipal technicians of the Architecture area”. The mayor has pointed out that the presentation of this project “has been delayed due to a resource presented by the Territorial College of Architects of Alicante against the award of the Technical Assistance Service contract for the drafting of the project; resource that was finally resolved in favor of the City Council ”.
However, due to this delay in the planned planning, the City Council has requested the Ministry of Education to readjust the annuities provided for in the Edificant Plan, so that funds that are not going to be consumed this year are transferred to 2020 and that will be invested in the work next year.
Meanwhile, the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, said that this multipurpose pavilion, which will be built in the space previously occupied by the houses of teachers of Leonor Canalejas, is an infrastructure “necessary and highly anticipated by the educational community ”From both Leonor Canalejas school and the Adult Training Center.
In this regard, he recalled that “the new building will host on the ground floor spaces for Leonor Canalejas students as dining room, kitchen, multipurpose room and toilets; while the top three will be for the Adult Training Center, which was provisionally installed 9 years ago at the El Torrejó Municipal Center ”.
Moreno stressed that this multipurpose pavilion "will improve the educational endowments of Benidorm, with more modern and functional facilities."
